This is a rare October 30th, 1947 "Playgoer" playbill from the three-night, Pre-Broadway tryout and WORLD PREMIERE engagement of the TENNESSEE WILLIAMS play "A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE" at the Shubert Theatre in New Haven, Connecticut. (The production would open December 3rd, 1947 at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre in New York City and run for 855 performances.) ..... The Pulitzer Prize winning play starred JESSICA TANDY and featured MARLON BRANDO, KIM HUNTER, KARL MALDEN, GEE GEE JAMES, PEG HILLIAS, RUDY BOND, EDNA THOMAS, RICHARD CARLYLE (whose role was eliminated out-of-town), NICK DENNIS, VITO CHRISTI, ANN DERE and RICHARD GARRICK .....
